YOU and God
Nowadays people's idea of a strong and serious Christian is someone who regularly goes to church and religious gatherings. Somehow the meaning of the term 'Christian' have been changed for the worse. You see Christians living off of what they heard at church. You see people believing that they can't have a close relationship with God like their pastor does.... Many times, I've heard people admire powerful men/women of God and say that they can never be like them.
Okay just so it's clear, no one is better than the other. Realize that everybody started from the bottom and worked their way towards a close relationship with God. You have your own chance, you have as many hours as those people have in a day. Spend time with God. Yes! Have some quiet time with Him.
Honestly, I've found that my most beautiful times with God were not in the church, but in my room, where it's just me and Him. There was no pastor, no preacher, no choir, nobody..just me and God. You learn firsthand from God, straight from His mouth and you don't have to depend on Sunday sermons. This is also how you learn to worship because the Holy Spirit comes and fellowships with you. You create your own bond between you and God, you experience Him yourself. You come to know Him for who He is and then you'll have no doubt about the true existence of God.
And this is the problem with Christians, a lot of us haven't truly experienced God for ourselves. All we know is what we have been told by other people and if that's the case, we can't defend our faith before other people because we are shaky and are not solely rooted in Christ.
We also have to understand that the Christian race is a personal race. Your pace is different from the other person's, it's not a competition. When you stand on the final day, you're going to be alone. You won't be judged in comparison with other people. So why not go for it? Get to know God personally! I give you my word, He's the sweetest person you'll ever encounter.
Love and peace always. <3

One Summer, Two Virtues
So since it's summer I'm doing this thing that I started a few summers ago. I mean you can do it all year round but personally, I think it's more effective when I don't have to worry about school and other stuff.
For each summer, I pick something that I'm really struggling with and work on it. For example, in the past I've chosen jealousy, anger, lying, pride, etc. These are the areas I know I need to work on, so I choose them and decide to better myself in these areas.
How it goes is, I choose about two for each summer. I put them in my prayers, then I go on with my day. For example, anger. I find myself in situations that require me to become angry, and I try my best to not be. For the first few times, it will be hard. I mean it's always hard to break a habit. But if you keep up, with God's grace, you'll overcome it. You'll see yourself slowly becoming less angry and after sometime, it will become a habit, you just won't let things get to you.
This is what I do every summer. Been working and it makes me a better person...I'm working on myself. And people emulate, when they see something about you that they like, they follow suit. So choose areas that you want to work on. Give it a try, hope it works for you.
God's grace.

God's Time is the Best.
Patience indeed is a virtue. Lately, I've been struggling with being patient, like it's really frustrating to have patience especially when you believe you deserve something at that moment.
"God's time is the best." I've heard and read this thousands of times but how many of us actually believe this? Okay you do? But how many of us actually do wait for God's time. So many times in my life, I've thought that I should've been somewhere, I should've been doing this, I should've learned that or seen that...that I'm late in the game but EVERY SINGLE TIME God comes out of no where and everything just falls into place. And all those worries I've been having just fade away cos God has handled it all. And I'm always truly baffled by how much He's planned out my life.
It leaves me thinking, how foolish, how funny God thinks I look when I'm worrying when He already has a plan. I'm here fasting and praying, seeking for something that's not even in accordance with God's will... Look just because someone else is doing something doesn't mean it's meant for you. "This is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us." (1 John 5:14) So if you're asking for something that's against God's will, it's not going to happen.
Now how about you let it go. Have patience because in every situation, position, tribulation or struggle you find yourself, God knows about it. Personally I've been through situations that I think I didn't deserve but now when I look back at it, I'm amazed at how they've shaped me and how much better I've become. Trust me God will never give you more than you can handle.
And whether you believe it or not, God has a plan for you.(Jer 29:11) You're going to have to trust Him and follow His lead. If it gets tough, ask for strength and grace. I promise, God is always there and He hears your every prayer. God bless you now... Have a blessed day.

Stop Being Insecure
We've all felt a little bit insecure at some point in our lives. Personally, I believe it's a stage that we all have to pass through. That period when you've not fully discovered yourself so you let other people define you. For some people, their stage of self discovery is short and for others it takes a very long time. And the later struggle with a terrible feeling of insecurity.
First things first, you put the price tag on yourself. In other words, it's how you present and carry yourself that people are going to address you. No one can intimidate you unless you give them permission to. I struggled with insecurity, but after God showed me his perception of me, I became full of pride. Pride that I was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) without a flaw.! The Bible talks so many times about how perfect God has created us.
Psalm 139:14 - I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Song of Solomon 4:7 - You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
So please stop looking down in yourself. Respect yourself. You have been chosen by God. Your body is His temple, He wishes to take over. Give it all to Him and stop worrying. You are created in God's likeness, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Remember that you are altogether beautiful and there is no flaw in you!
Be blessed.

Trust
Have you ever believed in someone so much that you doubted they'll ever let you down? Have you ever relied solely on someone because they are your only hope? Have you however been let down by someone you really trusted? Have you ever stopped trusting someone because of what they did? Are you looking for someone that will always be there for you? That will never disappoint you? That can't turn their back on you?
Trust is a big thing. For you to trust someone, you have to have confidence in them, you have to believe that no matter what, they will never let you down. Sometimes we trust the wrong people and sometimes we hesitate to trust the right people. But God is saying that we should trust Him. Proverbs 3:5. You see God is someone we can trust in that He
will never disappoint us. God is ALWAYS there. He hears each and every one of your thoughts. He hears your voice, He's always there waiting on you. If you rely solely on Him, He won't let you down. "Come all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Matthew 5:28.
God is constantly caring for us. He's asking you to trust Him. To lay all your problems, all your worries, all your sorrows, all your fears, all your sickness, all your battles, all your impediments and every other thing that makes you undeserving of joy, lay them on Him. Leave it for God!! The battle is not yours but the Lord's. "The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14.
All those battles that you're trying to fight yourself, stop it!! Stop trying to fix it, stop trying handle it. God is able and He wants to take care of it. And you know the best thing about putting it all in God's hands? He'll NEVER fail. With that comes absolute peace of mind. So please stop trying and trust God and He take care of it I promise.
Stay blessed fam!

The Love of God
I've watched the video above numerous times and I still can't seem to stop tears from running down my cheeks. The love of God is such a sensitive topic and I'll honestly say that I'm not worthy and wise enough to tackle this topic but may the Holy Spirit help me as always as I write this post.
As humans, we can't fully comprehend the love of God. I mean some people have grasped a sense of it, but no one fully understands the depth of God's love. The love of God surpasses all knowledge; we can't comprehend it unless we ourselves are rooted in love and have Jesus in our hearts (Ephesians 3:17-19). Because God is love. If you do not love, you do not know God (1 John 4:8). Even Christianity as a whole is based on love. If God didn't love us unconditionally, Jesus wouldn't have come to save the world (John 3:16). But God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ came and died for us (Romans 5:8).
The love of God brings me to tears and sometimes when I think of all God has done for me I get really emotional. How much more when God reveals to me the real depth of His love? The main thing that baffles me about His love is that we are not befitting of it. Like who on earth will do something so agonizing, something that brings so much pain for someone who doesn't even deserve it? I don't understand. And the fact that even though we consciously sin and choose not to obey Him His love endures.
Indeed God is love. And love??.. Love is patient, love is kind. Love doesn't envy, no it doesn't boast. It's not selfish and it's not easily angered. Love doesn't remember the wrongs, it doesn't delight in evil. It's always protecting, always trusting and it always perseveres. Love never fails. And these are what God is; patiently waiting and enduring, not wanting for you to perish but for you to come to repentance (2 Peter 2:9). Take heed.
Stay blessed loves!

"But I've Been Good?"
Things are spread on social media and some of us believe anything we see because it sounds good or maybe some celebrity we really admire believes it, and just like that, we believe it too. Our minds become like theirs and we start thinking how they think. There is this belief that good things should happen to good people and that God does good things to 'only' those who are good. In other words, bad things can't happen to good people because they have been good and 'supposedly' God shouldn't allow bad things to happen to them.
I really don't know how this belief came about. Whoever said that it's only when you're good that God cares for you? If that was true, wouldn't every unrighteous person on the face of earth be poor, hungry, desolated, depressed or even dead. People think that if they are good for maybe one day, God will answer their prayers. No!! Everything God does is out of the kindness of His heart. God doesn't owe us anything, He shouldn't be paying us back for keeping his commandments. His son already died on the cross for our sins. It's God's grace that keeps us going and His grace is freely given to all whether good or bad.
Let's examine the story of Job. Job was a very righteous man, he had a great relationship with God. His proximity with God troubled the devil that he pleaded with God to let him tempt Job. See we Christians face hardships, there are times when life will push you so hard to the wall. It's not that God has abandoned you, it's not that He forgot about you or that's He's purposely letting you suffer. No. He's always there, He'll create a way for you out of it. God is only giving you a chance to be wise and pass strongly through the storm so that you can emerge stronger and closer to Him. The hurdles in our lives are meant to strengthen us and draw us closer to God. Jesus Himself was tempted before He was about to start His ministry on earth and if he fell into those temptations, I doubt His ministry would have been established.
So next time that you are going through hard times, don't say 'But I've been good?' Rather pray to God that He give you the grace to pull through and that you might draw closer to Him. And in every situation you find yourself praise God. He will see you through. Amen.

Too busy for God?
We are so busy with life that we find it difficult to take out time to acknowledge God. Everyday we wake up and just go about our daily routines without even thanking God for a new day. Sure God doesn't need our praises to survive but doesn't He deserve it? Have you ever had those moments that you go through the WHOLE day then at night when you're about to go to sleep, you realize that you haven't even acknowledged God at all? Yeah that's how busy and occupied we keep our minds that praising God is no longer a priority. Today I woke and you know the first thing I did? I reached for my phone. Yes! I was so eager to check out the notifications I had. But God was there, He brought me back to my senses and I withdrew my hand and thanked Him for a new day.
It's crazy because we do these things unconsciously. We have our minds set on the things on our planner that we have to do and the things that are due and all that, that somehow we forget about God and we slide Him to the back of our minds because we think that we do not HAVE to thank Him. Because we believe that's it's not due and that we can do it any time, I mean He will always accept our thanks right? Sometimes we actually remember but we dismiss it from our mind and continue on with our hectic lives. We claim that we are so busy and God can wait that He'll understand. But we forget that God is all powerful and He can actually clear our whole schedule, so why not take time to praise Him?
It really baffles me how much we complain. We complain about any and every thing. Sometimes as soon as we wake up, we are already complaining about the weather, about how early it is to be up, about needing good food, about how terrible our lives are, etc. Sometimes I wonder that what if I was God, how would I feel? I mean how would you feel if you created the whole world, looked at it and saw that it was good, (Gen 1:31) then you placed man on it and immediately after he wakes up, he starts complaining? It's become a habit for us, trash talking everything and not even trying to be optimistic about anything.
We have to learn to be positive. Everyday wake up and tell yourself that this is the day the Lord has made therefore you'll rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). No matter how bad the weather is, how early it is, how cold it is, how hot it is, how sick you are, how terrible your life might be, thank God for the things He has done and for the ones He'll do. And you know what that does? It makes Him do more for you. Then look on the good sides of things, be happy, be rejuvenated and pass your energy to other people and I promise you, your day will be beautiful! Stay blessed fam!!

Transitioning: A Crucial Tool
Till today, people haven't acknowledged the essential part fasting plays in our spiritual lives. If we understood how much fasting benefits our spiritual life, we'd make big efforts to fast as many times as we can. But what exactly is fasting? Fasting is to abstain from all food (according to dictionary.com). From a spiritual perspective, fasting is abstaining from food to starve your flesh of its desires and to yield to that of the spirit.
I sought for the gift of tongues for about two years. At some point I really gave up, blaming it on myself and my past sins. I was naive, and didn't fully understand that when God forgives your sins, He forgets them. God's time is really the best, looking back now, I'm more than grateful that the tongues came when it did because it really built my faith. But on that day, I was fasting specifically for the gift of tongues. Throughout that day, I had control over myself. I talked less and I thought before I did anything. It was like my flesh was under my subjection and I just kept meditating on God's Word. When I got home, immediately I stepped into my room, I felt the Holy Spirit. And when I knelt down to pray and released my tongues He took over. God is amazing. I found my tongue moving and I was uttering groans that words cannot express (Romans 8:26). It was too much for my soul, I was broken and drenched in tears.
I've noticed that days when I'm fasting and I come to worship my Father, I don't need to sermon the Holy Spirit. He's always there waiting for me but days when I'm not, most times I have to sing worship songs to get me in the spirit. Okay this is what fasting does. Fasting makes you dwell more in your spirit and put your flesh under subjection (1 Corinthians 9:27). It makes you starve your flesh of its desires while you yield to those of the spirit. It's like you giving up your body for God to truly work in your life. You completely disconnect from your flesh and this speeds up God's answers to your prayers. Because if you are not heeding to your flesh, you are heeding to your spirit. Now since you are after the things of the spirit, you mind the things of the spirit (Romans 8:5) and because you are not in the flesh but in the spirit the Spirit of God dwells in you (Romans 8:9).
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38). When your spirit takes over, you begin to do the will of God. Also fasting is the solution to big problems. When a situation seems out of the norm, fasting coupled with faith is the solution (Mark 9:29). Remember that before Jesus chose the twelve disciples and started His ministry here on earth, He fasted. It just goes to show how important it really is. However, don't let everyone know that you are fasting, keep it to yourself (Matthew 6:16-18). Let God alone know and He will truly bless you and come to your aid. Fasting is extremely crucial in our lives. Start today, little by little.
God Bless.

We are Christains, We are different!!
It's time we stand as the Christians we are. If you're a Christian behind closed doors, you're not a real christian; sorry to break your bubble. Even Jesus Himself said it when He said that whoever denies Him before men will be denied before His Father who is in heaven (Matthew 10:33). We tend to hide the fact that we are Christians from the world so we could be accepted by them. We forget that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world. Please don't say it is hard. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).
Don't give up on who you are called to be. No amount of enjoyment, no amount of pleasure you get here on earth is worth going to hell forever for. Yes even if you are very rich, you can get everything you desire and you think life can't get any better; it's still not worth it. We are on earth and in this world there is sadness, pain, sorrow, death, anger, strife, sickness... so no matter how happy you are or think you are, it's nothing to be compared to the joy you'll obtain in heaven. Because in heaven there are no bad days, no sorrow, no sickness, no pain, no struggles. But pure joy and happiness because eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, nor have it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9). Have you ever thought of that?
And you still want to go to hell? I was talking to this guy sometime ago, kindly reprimanding him for his ways, he said he really appreciated what I was doing but he was far gone into sin and he can't turn back now. He said he'd rather rot in hell than change his ways. Wait what!? It's crystal clear that the devil has blinded him totally. He thinks the little pleasure he gets here on earth is worth perishing in hell eternally for. The devil has deceived a lot of us. He's roaring like a lion seeking for who to devour. Redeem your life right now! Take charge of your life. "I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life that you and your offspring may live," (Deuteronomy 30:19). Choose life that you may have eternal life. God's will for you is that you be saved.
We can't come to Jesus except we be called by God (John 6:65). He's calling you right now. You see God sent His only begotten son to die for us that we might be saved. He showed His love in that while we were still sinners, Christ came and died for us (Romans 5:8). Don't you get it? While you haven't even acknowledged that you have wronged God, He sent His ONLY son Jesus, to come and die for you! Have you ever wondered how much agony God was in when Jesus was on that cross? When they beat and whipped Him? When they forced that crown of thorns onto His head? When they passed those nails through his hands and feet? When they crucified Him on that cross of Calvary? You know God had the power to save His Son. He had the power to prevent His Son from going through all that anguish. But He let Jesus suffer so that we who don't even love Him might be saved. Isn't that such an amazing love God has for us?
Now how do you have strength, how do you have the heart to turn around and disobey God? How can you crucify Jesus the second time?! (Hebrews 6:6) Remember, if God wants to, He could destroy us whenever we sin as was done to the Israelites in the wilderness. But His grace is sufficient for us. So please next time when you wanna sin, think twice. Let the way we live our lives show evidence that we are truly of God. Be wise. God bless...

Transitioning: Overcoming Our Old Self.
Let's face it, a lot of us have decided so many times that we are going to start living right. We go to church on Sunday or we go to a good conference and the preaching touches our heart so much that we decide to change. It just feels like the preacher is talking to us personally and we being touched sit there rethinking our lives. We reconcile with God, we rededicate our lives to Him and feel guilty for all our sins. However, when we leave the church, somehow we forget all that and how touched we were. We go right back to our sins and start living our previous lives. Next Sunday again we go to church and the preaching touches our heart we decide to live right again but yet AGAIN we go back our sins. It becomes like a routine and we never actually keep the promise we made to God to live right for Him.
According to the Bible, this is what you are. You are like the seed that was sown on rocky ground. (Matthew 13:20) You receive the word with joy but since you're on rocky ground and you have no root, when temptations arise you fall away. You fall right into the temptations. We've all been here. The thing is, Satan is at work. His ultimate goal for your life is to devour you. As you go back to your normal environment, he brings back the things that defile you. Worldly music, social media, food, cursing, pornography, masturbation, fornication, partying, etc. and because you are still living by the flesh, you'll desire the things of the flesh so you fall right into that temptation (Galatians 5:16). Some of us might argue that it is rather challenging to change and give up our carnal desires. I agree. But when you desire something sincerely, you'll do every possible thing in your power to get it. You have to be passionate about God. If you are not passionate about changing, if you are not zealous about living for God, you'll always go back to the old you.
So I beg of you, that you make it a priority to seek God. Make it a priority to desire the things of God, to live by His Spirit, to dwell in His presence and to acknowledge Him every second of your life. You see Jesus never promised it will be easy, He only promised that the reward will be worth it (Romans 8:18) and that He'll see you through it all. God won't let you be tempted more than you can bear, He will always create a way out of every temptation you find yourself in (1 Corinthians 10:13). Declare Him master over your life. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, this time, mean it with every part of your being and He'll take over. Be ready for the tremendous changes that are about to occur in your life. You sure won't remain the same.
Accept Him right now. God Bless.

Reason for Blogging.
Hello there!
I've always wanted to make a blog but somehow I keep putting it away. Well seeing that it is a new year, I have decided to actually do it and not just talk about it. I know! New year, new resolutions, I guess that's what it is. But even though I've always wanted to make a blog, I didn't know what to make it about. I mean it has to be something that I'm super passionate about and now reflecting on my life, I'm going to make it about living a decent Christian life in this generation.
It's no doubt that it's turning out to be a bit difficult for Christians to survive in a world like this. Like come on, social media has shaped our views and outlook in life that we've lost our values trying to fit in and to keep up with the new trends. We get so lost in the game and lose our real selves. In my personal life, I've strayed multiple times over but I've returned acknowledging that trying to keep up with the celebrities and all doesn't benefit my life. I've seen other people and I've noticed how confused they are giving up their lives to become like their favorite celebrities. It's sad how shallow and fragile our lives are, as we strive to emulate what the famous people do.
In this blog, I'm going to be make posts that will encourage your Christian lives and will answer questions as to how to stand strong in your beliefs. Remember that saying "Stand for what you believe or you'll fall for anything." I'll also post fashion ideas that are beautiful and
yet decent and modest. I hope my blog benefits you in more ways than I can imagine. Stay blessed.
