I am HAPPY

I'm beyond content with life right now.
And I never thought I'd say this but I am HAPPY.
No, not happy but I still have some things to worry about
Or happy but I mean anything can happen
Or happy but tomorrow will be stressful
Noooo, I am HAPPY
Genuinely happy,
The happiness and peace that comes with knowing our Lord Jesus Christ
The happiness that knows no boundaries or sorrow
Happiness that overrides every shortcoming.

I am content.
"But godliness with contentment is great gain."
This morning I woke up
Completely satisfied with life.
And it took me a thousand years to get here
Considering I'm not the type to not worry
But Jesus, Jesus has taken away every worry
He has taken away every stress

I went through it last week
And I thought I wouldn't make it out
I cried out to Him
Pleaded with Him to take away the tears
Next morning I woke up completely on the other side of the scale.
And today especially, I woke up on the top of the world.
My God has elevated me!
His love forever overflows in the life
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!

Focus on God

God takes away the hurt
God takes away the loneliness
God takes away the pain
God takes away the anger
God takes away the jealousy
God takes away the insecurity
God takes away the feeling of I'm not enough
God takes away the depression
And you don't notice it until one day, one day you realize you're happy...you are at peace
Because you stopped focusing on those things and you put your Focus on God.

Focus on God!

You say you love me...

I must say, I'm writing this post with a little bit of frustration. I'm tired of hearing people say they love God... Oh you do? So why are you hurting Him? Why aren't you doing what pleases God? Why is it such a hassle for you to go to church on Sundays? You are saying you love Him but your actions are showing otherwise. Umm so doesn't that make you a liar? Okay I'm sorry for starting up like that, let me rephrase. Please if your actions are not acceptable before God - sinful, you don't love Him. A man can't serve two masters at the same time; it's either you're for God or you're not.

"If you love me, keep my commandments."-John 14:15. "In fact, this is love for God; to keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome."-1 John 5:3. I've realized that when you truly love God, you'd care about Him and His feelings. It's like being in love with a person, where you just want to spend time with them and do anything to make them happy. That's same thing with God. It's easy to obey God when you love Him because you just want to make Him happy!!. Obedience becomes second nature. So if you find yourself easily disobeying God, it's because you don't love Him, because you wouldn't dare hurt someone you claim you love!

My Body, His Temple.

Just a quick reminder, your body is the temple of God. You are His temple and the Spirit of the Lord dwells in you. Therefore do not chase God away by defiling your body and presenting it unclean. "Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship" Romans 12:1. Remember in Matthew 12:12-17 when Jesus came to the temple and saw people buying and selling goods, he was so troubled that he pushed down their tables and destroyed as much goods as he could. That's exactly what we are doing when we defile our body; we are using the house of God against what God has made it for.

So please ensure that you have not turned God's temple into something else. Keep it clean and holy because God is not a God of confusion. But if in the past, you've defiled yourself, confess your sins, ask for forgiveness and be renewed in Him. Now keep that body clean! "Do you not know that your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies!" 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Grace and peace y'all.

Guard your Heart

Lately, I've been learning a whole lot about guarding your heart. In Proverbs 4, Solomon was giving instructions such as hold onto wisdom, acquire knowledge and understanding, listen to instructions, etc., and he continued on to verse 23, where he said "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.(NIV)" Did you catch that? Above All Else! I had to highlight that verse real quick because it was pretty outstanding. What I couldn't understand was why Solomon was saying this. I mean what's the big deal with the heart that it should be guarded? Well Jesus said in Matthew 15:18-19 "But the things that come out of a person's mouth come from the heart, and these defile them (the man). For out of the heart come evil thoughts - murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander" (NIV).

As you can see, the heart controls us. Your thoughts, speech, actions, etc. are pondered in your heart before it is manifested and as a result, you wouldn't do whatever your heart doesn't condone. Even David understood the importance of the heart that he pleaded in Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." The heart is what the Lord weighs (Proverbs 21:2). And don't forget the beatitudes, where Jesus said "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8). Doesn't that do it for you? So guard and keep your heart from evil so that it may be pure and guarantee your entrance into eternity.

Looking for Answers?

"Come to me, all ye who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matt 11:28 NIV.

You are curious, admit it, very curious about life. I mean you hear about God, you kinda believe He is real, you know there's a heaven and there's a hell but you just don't want to fully believe it. Like give me some more time let me live my life, let me party some more, let me have more fun because YOLO!! But wait... don't get me wrong. Deep within you, you want something, you know there's more to life than this. Getting drunk and partying is your temporary getaway, getting high helps you relieve stress and charges you to face life, you need these things to keep you going. Slowly you're becoming dependent on them. You're searching so hard, seeking for what can temporarily fill your void. You are looking for answers, you just want to be satisfied, you just want to be happy, you want more in life. Now maybe this boyfriend/girlfriend is gonna do, or how about smoking, nahh I think weed is better. And just like that you are traveling from one thing to the other, but each and every time you are left with nothing because you still feel empty! There has to be more to life.!

I don't know you, you don't know me. I don't know what you are going through, what you've been through or how crazy your life is. But I need you to know, mine has once been hell. I've been in the valleys, I've been in the deepest wells, I've had days when I wanted to just die, like what in the world am I living for? But lemme tell you, I've found joy, I've found happiness. I was empty, ruined, tired, lost, I was looking for answers and I've heard about Jesus. I knew His name so I decided to check Him out myself. Trust me, since then I have never looked back. I've found the man who healed my wounds, the man who filled me up, the man who took away my fears, who made my insecure self very courageous, the man who gave me hope, purpose, peace, love and totally erased my past. Today I stand, proud to say I've been renewed! I've been touched! I've been FILLED and I am searching no more because right here lies the answer I've been looking for!!

Find out yourself :)

Grateful.

Grateful.

Grateful for the gift of life, for the fullness of health and for the abundance of grace. Grateful for family, for the unforgettable and priceless moments I've shared with them. Grateful for love that always finds its way to creep into my cold being. Grateful for everlasting joy that lingers at the walls of heart. Grateful for peace that keeps me still and sane. Grateful for friends, for their companies that always brighten my mood. Grateful for people that have listened to me pour out my heart. Grateful for the hugs, the prayers and the texts that make my day. Grateful for the acquaintances that motivate and encourage me daily. Grateful for every bit of advice or help that have been thrown my way. Grateful for the trials and tribulations. Grateful for the agonizing times I've cried myself to sleep. Grateful for the gloomy, dark and lonely days that almost destroyed my ego. Grateful for the moments I've doubted my abilities and intellect. Grateful for the insecure and not-so-confident points in my life. Grateful for strength, for the courage to keep on pushing. Grateful for perseverance, because without it I'd be in the gutters. Grateful for a second chance because maybe this time, I will get it right. Grateful for grace, I'm constantly drowning in God's grace. Grateful for determination, I might have fallen but I stand stronger now more than ever. Grateful to God, because He is all I've got in this world.

Grateful.

2015 - Better you.

I hope that you all made it safely into the new year. Granted, this is an undeniably late post, I just wanted to be in the right mood when I wrote it. 2014 had its own fair share of difficult moments but the most important thing is that we made it to 2015!! Cheers to a new year! Praying for joy, happiness and the peace of mind that comes with knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.

Some people will argue that making new year resolutions is futile because we end giving up on them. Well I think it's better to acknowledge that you need improvements in certain areas of your life and actually decide to work on it. Or would you rather stay the same old you? I didn't think so. So how about you give it a try before you give up on it. Learn a skill, engage in that business, take up a minor, study the Bible more, spend time with Jesus, do that thing you have been putting off for the longest time. Your life is what you make it, what better time is there than now. Make the best of 2015!

Happy New Years lovelies!
