Transitioning: A Crucial Tool

Till today, people haven't acknowledged the essential part fasting plays in our spiritual lives. If we understood how much fasting benefits our spiritual life, we'd make big efforts to fast as many times as we can. But what exactly is fasting? Fasting is to abstain from all food (according to dictionary.com). From a spiritual perspective, fasting is abstaining from food to starve your flesh of its desires and to yield to that of the spirit.

I sought for the gift of tongues for about two years. At some point I really gave up, blaming it on myself and my past sins. I was naive, and didn't fully understand that when God forgives your sins, He forgets them. God's time is really the best, looking back now, I'm more than grateful that the tongues came when it did because it really built my faith. But on that day, I was fasting specifically for the gift of tongues. Throughout that day, I had control over myself. I talked less and I thought before I did anything. It was like my flesh was under my subjection and I just kept meditating on God's Word. When I got home, immediately I stepped into my room, I felt the Holy Spirit. And when I knelt down to pray and released my tongues He took over. God is amazing. I found my tongue moving and I was uttering groans that words cannot express (Romans 8:26). It was too much for my soul, I was broken and drenched in tears.

I've noticed that days when I'm fasting and I come to worship my Father, I don't need to sermon the Holy Spirit. He's always there waiting for me but days when I'm not, most times I have to sing worship songs to get me in the spirit. Okay this is what fasting does. Fasting makes you dwell more in your spirit and put your flesh under subjection (1 Corinthians 9:27). It makes you starve your flesh of its desires while you yield to those of the spirit. It's like you giving up your body for God to truly work in your life. You completely disconnect from your flesh and this speeds up God's answers to your prayers. Because if you are not heeding to your flesh, you are heeding to your spirit. Now since you are after the things of the spirit, you mind the things of the spirit (Romans 8:5) and because you are not in the flesh but in the spirit the Spirit of God dwells in you (Romans 8:9).

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38). When your spirit takes over, you begin to do the will of God. Also fasting is the solution to big problems. When a situation seems out of the norm, fasting coupled with faith is the solution (Mark 9:29). Remember that before Jesus chose the twelve disciples and started His ministry here on earth, He fasted. It just goes to show how important it really is. However, don't let everyone know that you are fasting, keep it to yourself (Matthew 6:16-18). Let God alone know and He will truly bless you  and come to your aid. Fasting is extremely crucial in our lives. Start today, little by little.
God Bless.

We are Christains, We are different!!

It's time we stand as the Christians we are. If you're a Christian behind closed doors, you're not a real christian; sorry to break your bubble. Even Jesus Himself said it when He said that whoever denies Him before men will be denied before His Father who is in heaven (Matthew 10:33). We tend to hide the fact that we are Christians from the world so we could be accepted by them. We forget that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world. Please don't say it is hard. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

Don't give up on who you are called to be. No amount of enjoyment, no amount of pleasure you get here on earth is worth going to hell forever for. Yes even if you are very rich, you can get everything you desire and you think life can't get any better; it's still not worth it. We are on earth and in this world there is sadness, pain, sorrow, death, anger, strife, sickness... so no matter how happy you are or think you are, it's nothing to be compared to the joy you'll obtain in heaven. Because in heaven there are no bad days, no sorrow, no sickness, no pain, no struggles. But pure joy and happiness because eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, nor have it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9). Have you ever thought of that?

And you still want to go to hell? I was talking to this guy sometime ago, kindly reprimanding him for his ways, he said he really appreciated what I was doing but he was far gone into sin and he can't turn back now. He said he'd rather rot in hell than change his ways. Wait what!? It's crystal clear that the devil has blinded him totally. He thinks the little pleasure he gets here on earth is worth perishing in hell eternally for. The devil has deceived a lot of us. He's roaring like a lion seeking for who to devour. Redeem your life right now! Take charge of your life. "I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life that you and your offspring may live," (Deuteronomy 30:19). Choose life that you may have eternal life. God's will for you is that you be saved.

We can't come to Jesus except we be called by God (John 6:65). He's calling you right now. You see God sent His only begotten son to die for us that we might be saved. He showed His love in that while we were still sinners, Christ came and died for us (Romans 5:8). Don't you get it? While you haven't even acknowledged that you have wronged God, He sent His ONLY son Jesus, to come and die for you! Have you ever wondered how much agony God was in when Jesus was on that cross? When they beat and whipped Him? When they forced that crown of thorns onto His head? When they passed those nails through his hands and feet? When they crucified Him on that cross of Calvary? You know God had the power to save His Son. He had the power to prevent His Son from going through all that anguish. But He let Jesus suffer so that we who don't even love Him might be saved. Isn't that such an amazing love God has for us?

Now how do you have strength, how do you have the heart to turn around and disobey God? How can you crucify Jesus the second time?! (Hebrews 6:6) Remember, if God wants to, He could destroy us whenever we sin as was done to the Israelites in the wilderness. But His grace is sufficient for us. So please next time when you wanna sin, think twice. Let the way we live our lives show evidence that we are truly of God. Be wise. God bless...

Transitioning: Overcoming Our Old Self.

Let's face it, a lot of us have decided so many times that we are going to start living right. We go to church on Sunday or we go to a good conference and the preaching touches our heart so much that we decide to change. It just feels like the preacher is talking to us personally and we being touched sit there rethinking our lives. We reconcile with God, we rededicate our lives to Him and feel guilty for all our sins. However, when we leave the church, somehow we forget all that and how touched we were. We go right back to our sins and start living our previous lives. Next Sunday again we go to church and the preaching touches our heart we decide to live right again but yet AGAIN we go back our sins. It becomes like a routine and we never actually keep the promise we made to God to live right for Him.

According to the Bible, this is what you are. You are like the seed that was sown on rocky ground. (Matthew 13:20) You receive the word with joy but since you're on rocky ground and you have no root, when temptations arise you fall away. You fall right into the temptations. We've all been here. The thing is, Satan is at work. His ultimate goal for your life is to devour you. As you go back to your normal environment, he brings back the things that defile you. Worldly music, social media, food, cursing, pornography, masturbation, fornication, partying, etc. and because you are still living by the flesh, you'll desire the things of the flesh so you fall right into that temptation (Galatians 5:16). Some of us might argue that it is rather challenging to change and give up our carnal desires. I agree. But when you desire something sincerely, you'll do every possible thing in your power to get it. You have to be passionate about God. If you are not passionate about changing, if you are not zealous about living for God, you'll always go back to the old you.

So I beg of you, that you make it a priority to seek God. Make it a priority to desire the things of God, to live by His Spirit, to dwell in His presence and to acknowledge Him every second of your life. You see Jesus never promised it will be easy, He only promised that the reward will be worth it (Romans 8:18) and that He'll see you through it all. God won't let you be tempted more than you can bear, He will always create a way out of every temptation you find yourself in (1 Corinthians 10:13). Declare Him master over your life. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, this time, mean it with every part of your being and He'll take over. Be ready for the tremendous changes that are about to occur in your life. You sure won't remain the same.

Accept Him right now. God Bless.

Reason for Blogging.

Hello there!
I've always wanted to make a blog but somehow I keep putting it away. Well seeing that it is a new year, I have decided to actually do it and not just talk about it. I know! New year, new resolutions, I guess that's what it is. But even though I've always wanted to make a blog, I didn't know what to make it about. I mean it has to be something that I'm super passionate about and now reflecting on my life, I'm going to make it about living a decent Christian life in this generation.

It's no doubt that it's turning out to be a bit difficult for Christians to survive in a world like this. Like come on, social media has shaped our views and outlook in life that we've lost our values trying to fit in and to keep up with the new trends. We get so lost in the game and lose our real selves. In my personal life, I've strayed multiple times over but I've returned acknowledging that trying to keep up with the celebrities and all doesn't benefit my life. I've seen other people and I've noticed how confused they are giving up their lives to become like their favorite celebrities. It's sad how shallow and fragile our lives are, as we strive to emulate what the famous people do.
In this blog, I'm going to be make posts that will encourage your Christian lives and will answer questions as to how to stand strong in your beliefs. Remember that saying "Stand for what you believe or you'll fall for anything." I'll also post fashion ideas that are beautiful and
yet decent and modest. I hope my blog benefits you in more ways than I can imagine. Stay blessed.
